I was still in seminary and in my 20's and it was a small wedding in a home, but it seemed a daunting task. The thoughts raced through my mind constantly as I prepared such as "What will I say?" "What will I do?" "What is the right order for everything?" "What happens if I mess up?" "Where can I find a wedding ceremony?" "If I mess up their wedding will they still be my friends afterwards?"

That was 25 years ago, and I have performed weddings over 400 times since then and have "messed up" many times (in small ways), but I have never had anyone leave mad and have never been featured on "America's Funniest Videos." Keep in mind that what is a large mistake in your mind, is often completely unnoticed by the crowd or even the couple since it was probably only an intention in your mind that you did not follow through on or a small word mix up, etc.

Let me give you the quick and easy way to perform a wedding flawlessly (OK semi-flawless). It will at least increase your odds of doing a good job by a ton, even if it is your first time. I am assuming that you have been asked to do this by friends or family or church members who have confidence in you and that you are legally certified to do it. You probably have some public speaking experience already or you would not have been asked to perform the ceremony so I am not going to cover Public Speaking 101. I am going to focus on the "mechanics" of performing the wedding ceremony. This is something that I have rarely if ever seen anyone discuss. I sure don't remember reading anything about it, but I wish I had 25 years ago.

1. Find a good basic wedding ceremony. You can find this in many places. Look through ministers manuals. Find something you can use as a template. You may be able to find some wedding ceremony templates by doing a search online.

2. Sit down with the couple ahead of time and find out what they want included in their wedding. I am finding that many couples are wanting "simple." Write down their names correctly and ask them how to pronounce their names. Write them down in such a way that you can see how to pronounce them. Take notes in your meeting and get all the details.

3. Find a good order of service. Look at wedding programs. They vary, but many have the same basic elements of the wedding ceremony and show who does what. The basic elements are seating of the families / mothers, groom and groomsmen enter (there are variations), bridal party enters, bride enters, presentation of the bride, bride and groom at the front, message by minister, wedding vows, ring vows, unity candle (optional), pronouncement of marriage and kiss, blessing and prayer, presentation of couple, recessional, announcement about reception.

4. Sit down with your wedding ceremony and order of service side by side to see the transitions for yourself. Make yourself some note in the margins of your ceremony.

5. Meet and discuss details ahead of time with the wedding planner or wedding coordinator if they have one. Ask them their preferences. They will be extremely helpful. Find out how weddings are usually performed in that venue or wedding location.

6. Sketch out a walk though of the entire ceremony on paper using bullet points. If you are fortunate enough to have a skilled wedding coordinator, then you will only have to be responsible for the ceremony portion of the wedding. The ceremony itself should only take about 12-15 minutes.

For more great information on how to perform weddings flawlessly even if if it your first time see part 2 of this article. Part two of this article deals with some of the actual mechanics of organizing the ceremony and the tricks of leading it in front of a crowd. By following the steps in this article you can be performing weddings like a pro in no time.

Dr. Kelly Carr
http://www.weddingincome.com
http://www.weddingsuppliesplus.com

Books:
The Wedding Income Toolkit for Ministers, The Wedding Vow Kit, The Wedding Rehearsal Genie, A Guidebook for Searchers, Revelation: Book of Mystery and Majesty

The Wedding Income Toolkit is designed to teach pastors, youth pastors, music ministers, associate pastors, chaplains, and ministers of all kinds how to increase their income significantly by performing weddings. It includes text, templates, wedding vows, special readings, wedding rehearsal instructions, audio, and personal support. One of the most important things involved in that is deciding what vows you'll use in the ceremony itself. Many people choose to go with traditional wordings, but for a growing number of couples, the traditional vows just don't work.

If you're in this situation, you may wish to consider using an existing variant of traditional wedding vows (such as alternatives that don't require the bride to "obey") or to even write your own for your big day. Writing your own vows can be a really special experience and it can make your wedding stand out as something that's truly meaningful for you and the people you know.

Remember, your wedding should be about the things that are special to you as a couple. If a cookie cutter set of vows used by many others isn't going to do that, you'll want to consider writing your own. That way, you'll know that the promises you're making to one another are the ones you really want to be making and that you'll be able to uphold them.

The good news is that nearly anything can be used in your vows, from special poems and songs with meaning to you, your old letters and emails, special times you spend together and any other important aspect of your lives. Biblical or other holy verses are popular for some, and others choose to adapt existing vows on their own so they're more meaningful and appropriate to the situation.

There's no reason to avoid including humor in your vows, either. While you shouldn't be showing off your funny side too much, it is a joyful time to celebrate, and your vows can reflect that.

A little laughter is completely appropriate - tell a funny story about how you met or about a time you shared together. A somber ceremony feels a lot lighter with a bit of humor included in the wedding vows. Just remember to keep it appropriate to the venue you're in and the guests you've invited to your wedding - no one wants to offend on their big day.

Think outside the box and be willing to be creative, but don't stress about it when choosing your wedding vows. Let your ideas flow freely, and don't rule something out right away just because it sounds silly. If it's important to you, it might make a good wedding vow choice.

Wedding vows are a truly special set of promises that bind two people together for life, and they need to be something that a couple really believes in. You need to choose words that you're going to remember forever.

Remember that it's you're wedding and that the promises you make in front of everyone are intended to last. It's your chance to show the world how you and your love feel about each other. Make vows that you can believe in and cherish, no matter what they might be.

About the Author:

Need advice on writing your own wedding vows? Last weekend I did come across something new and different.

When I arrived at the wedding, the coordinator told me that after the ceremony, I was to make the usual comments. I was to thank the guests, let them know about the reception, and then ask them to wait because the Bride and Groom would release each row individually. This would be done in place of a receiving line.

So, after the wedding ceremony, I released the first row of parents, thanked the guests for coming, and then asked them to wait for a moment because the couple wanted to release them personally. It took a minute or two for the Bride and Groom to come back around. We gave them a round of applause, and then they walked back down the aisle and released each row individually and personally thanked the guests with hugs and handshakes.

It actually went much better than I anticipated. The guests were all made to feel personally appreciated for coming, the Bride and Groom were able to personally express their appreciation, and it did not take as long as I thought. It was a smaller venue with about 110 guests, and altogether it took about 15 minutes.

I'll let you know when I come across something else. I actually have a few other things I have been meaning to write.

Check back when you can.

Kelly

www.WeddingIncomeToolkit.com

Performing Wedding

Different Gift packaging and their uses

By Magriet

According to the Wikipedia The history of gift giving can be traced back to about the Romans. On the first day of January, around the Winter Solace, people gave each other gifts during a celebration. The gifts were originally evergreen branches, and later developed into cakes, to symbolize prosperity and sweetness in the coming year.

Gift Packaging become more and more involved, over the years researched was done for maximum effect. Excitement and suspense are created by receiving a covered gift. Originally fabric was used to cover gifts. Later brown paper was used. Because of the versatile use of paper, Gift Wrap became popular. You can cover just about any shape using Gift Wrap.

In order to get a firmer and neater look Gift Boxes was introduced. Over the Christmas period lots of families travel to either holiday or family destinations. It is a lot easier to transport gifts in Gift Boxes. Decorate Gift Boxes with Ribbons and Raffia in such a way that it compliments the receivers style and taste.

Gift Boxes decorated with custom made ribbons and with a logo printed on are preferred by Companies. Gift Packaging can be complimented by adding custom made Tissue Paper to the inside of Gift Boxes. Not only will it add some colour but cushion a fragile gift while transporting. Gift Packaging will make a powerful impact if the receiver's style is considered.

Events and promotional drives use Gift Bags with success. Gift Bags can be bought in different sizes and colours. In the event you have specific size and specifications we can have them made up. You can print your company logo on Gift Bags or you can use your own designer paper to have them made up with.

Weddings and ladies functions are synonym with Organza Gift Bags. A romantic and feminine style can be and create with them. Organza bags can found be bought in just about any colour and they are available in different sizes. Dots can be used to decorate your Organza bags with in order to create your own personal touch. Add satin ribbons to add a colour to your colour scheme.

Corrugated Gift Boxes can be made up in natural corrugated board or standard colours.African curios are nicely set of in this earthy look style. Since Corrugated board is manufactured by using recycled paper and are bio degradable it makes them excellent for the green conscious users.

My all time favorite is Aluminium Tins because you can put just about any gift inside. They are durable and when printed or branded will be a long term reminder of your company to the end user. Aluminium tins can be reused for cookies, odds and end, children toys and garage organizers.

About the Author:

Red Dot Gift Packaging for all your Gift ribbons and gift packaging materials Gift Packaging Gift Ribbons Get a totally unique version of this article from our article submission service

Cake Decorating Madness - Join the Bandwagon

By Mann

We are living through what appears to be a renaissance of sorts-people everywhere are becoming increasingly interested in matters of the kitchen. Simply switch on the nearest television set and you will find whole channels dedicated to the art of cooking and baking and preparing scrumptious meals. This is a move away from the long-standing trend of creating fast, simple meals that were meant more as fuel than to be enjoyed. However, the attention has gradually shifted away from matters of convenience to matters of wholesome and beautiful food.

The slow food movement began to take root in Europe many years ago, as the fast pace of modern life began to attack many people where it hurt the most: at the dinner table. This movement focuses on shifting away from food as fuel to food as something to be truly enjoyed. The slow food movement, in part, may be able to explain the resurgence of what for awhile appeared to be a lost art: the sugar craft that is otherwise known as cake decoration.

The rising popularity of cake decoration can be seen in the rising amount of adjectives that there are for it: pastry art, sugar craft, etc, all are a sign of a better trend: the return of cake decorating. Cake decorating has always been a in style hobby among that foodie who cannot refuse to accept a soft or sparkling dessert, but it had to go through a quite delayed period where awareness in cake decoration waned. But now, after a deep slumber, cake decoration has made a come back with a settling of scores. A lot of people, both women and men, have shown a wish in cooking and baking, and no where this is more obvious than in cake decoration and beautification.

After a long sleep cake decoration as a popular hobby. Why? The main reason appears to be that cake decorating has gained in popularity because, of all the suitable for eating arts, it is the one that is nearest to what we assumed of customary art. After all, specialized cake decorators have to be acquainted with a lot about design, decorative work, sophisticated script work, color and even shape. Cake decorating, one can see, involves the entire mind: feel, sense, smell and vision. A few would dispute that there is no lovelier food than a magnificently decorated cake.

Further key aspect of the appearance of cake decorating is that not easy. A lot of people are attracted towards cake decoration because they think that it will be a test for them. Someone may tend to sign up to run a marathon in order to test themselves; another being might tend to join for a cake decorating class in order to test themselves in the kitchen. At this point, the well-decorated cake is much like the holy grail of the kitchen-it is somewhat for all fanatical chefs and pastry bakers to endeavor for.

If cake decoration is one thing which you always wanted to learn, but have never dared to try. This is the right time to learn. There are many cake decorating courses being offered at local community colleges all through the country, and there are many booming cooking academies that offer you to learn for a certificate or diploma in the pastry arts, and more exclusively, cake decorating. If you are keen in learning cake decorating, remember that the delightful cake does not appear all on its own-someone have to take the time to set it together, sugar crystal by sugar crystal. Why can't this personality be you?

About the Author:

Master cake decorating with some beautiful cake decorating ideas. The answers may surprise you. Think about it for a moment. If everyone who got married in your county last year got married in a church, or more specifically, in your church, what else would you have time to do? Not much. You would have to have a separate business administrator just dedicated to that.

People are getting married by the thousands. They need help in getting married. They need ministers to perform weddings. They need licensed ministers or ordained ministers who can perform a wedding or officiate a wedding. They need someone who cares about them. They need someone who will care about the future of their family. What better person than a local pastor, associate pastor, music minister, youth minister, chaplain, etc.

So, the question is still, "Where are people in your community getting married?" Well, unless you live in Chandler, Arizona, or the Valley of the Sun, I cannot answer that question for you. You will have to answer it for yourself. But when you find the answer, send me an email and I will tell you how to get started in your own home based wedding ministry business that can earn you an extra $5,000.00 or more in part time income this year and every year.

Blessings,

Kelly

http://www.weddingincome.com/

Click below to learn more about

Performing Weddings

The Wedding Income Toolkit for Ministers

The Wedding Income Toolkit for Ministers

This system was created to help a minister increase his salary by $5,000.00 per year.
